Trump’s pick as the new administrator for public health is alarming for millions of US citizens who must rely on public coverage for basic care. As quality of health in the US declines, costs associated with medical bills continue to rise, putting many hard working, low income, families at risk to insolvency, even homelessness. If by “Making America Great Again”, Trump envisions clapboard shack, shanty towns, people walking to work on broken limbs, afflicted with any number of respiratory or circulatory diseases they cannot afford to look after- then congratulations. When people have to choose between food and medicine, shelter or surgery, even the doctors will start to notice diminishing returns as their wait times vanish with the number of people who can afford their increasingly high fees.
